It´s time to go to an area in Italy that is not that well known in Iceland, Campania. For those who do not know much about the area, it´s most popular red grape is the Aglianico, which gives a very tannin rich wine, and this wine is no exception. The area is south of Tuscana and can be pretty hot in the summer and a soil rich in lava because of the infamous Vesuvius volcano.

As it happens with many area´s that fly under the radar in Italy, you can often find good producers making good wines at a good price. In my opinion this is one of them. Even though the wine has only a IGT stamp (half a step above table wine) it shows a quality well above the standard of IGT.

Nativ Dell ´Inchiostro 2018 is still very closed in the nose giving a slight cedar tone. The palate takes a little time to develop, but when it does it explodes in the mouth! Lots of blackberries, ceder, coffee beans and tannin are the most dominating qaulities, with a slght plum taste in the end. The aftertaste is long is strong. A really good wine for the price of 3.788 kr. and should go well with lamb, and beef in a heavy sauce.
