Allegrini Carte Giara Ripasso Valpolicella 2018
What can I say about Allegrini? When it comes to quality wine from northen Italy they are one of the best. I have a lot of respect for Tommasi and Masi producers, but I cannot deny Allegrini stands as their equals in wine production and a good example in the price to quality ratio is the Carte Giara Ripasso. Ripasso and Appasimento wines seem to be popular on the Icelandic market right now, and it is little wonder, as they are good tasting, yet soft and not to heavy or too light.

Allegrini Carte Giara Ripasso Valpolicella 2018
Is a rather open wine, with lots of cherry jam, kirsch and some raisins in the aroma. The palate is soft and easy with cherries, oak, coffee and a slight prune taste. The tannins are not overpowering but are there. The aftertaste is soft and long. I see this wine with a cheese and meat platter surrounded by good friends! The price is good at 3.390 kr.
