I was thinking the other day that I have tasted and wrote about wine in every category, from cheap to expensive, light to heavy, european, american and all over the world. The wines I have written about could go well with almost any holiday food without shame. But sad to say, there is one group that I have not paid enough attention to, the Vegan group.

With that in mind I found a lovely Italian wine, Barbera D´Asti from Piedmont. I chose this wine because not only is it good, but it has the vegan stamp from the italian government. For Vegans looking for something good for their nut steak or other courses over the holidays, this is a great wine!

Vietti Barbera D´Asti Trevigne 2019 is still a young wine and needs a little bit of time to open, but when is does, it´s a real treat! The nose starts out with a cherry aroma and then comes a little bit of oak and vanilla. The palate is medium heavy with lots of cherries, vanilla, mineral, and plums. There is a good balance of fruits and tannins and the wine is not too heavy. Even though the wine is young, it is drinkable now and will improve over the next 3-5 years. 3.499 kr. is a fair price for the wine. P.S. I love the label!
