It´s time to go back and write about one of my favourite areas. An area I feel does not get enough love and respect here at home, quality and price wise, Washington State in the U.S.. The Washington wines we get here are among the best producers they have to offer and Chateau Ste. Michelle is one of them.
They along with their sister company Columbia Crest have been ground breaking in showing how to make high qaulity wines at low prices in that area.

Chateau Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon 2017, Columbia Valley, is still fairly closed in the nose which is not uncommon from this area, but gives a good blackberry and black cherry smell once it opens up. The palate starts out dry and tannin rich but move on to a strong coffee, blackberry, oak, vanila, pepper and paprika taste. The aftertaste is long, fruity and ends in a good paprika finish. Even though this wine can keep for another 3-4 years, I see no reason not to enjoy it now. A wine perfect with lamb and the price is low at only 3.491 kr.
